Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Our Life/Goal Balancing System integrates techniques to align the physical, mental, emotional and energetic systems in relation to your goals, giving you the energy and freedom to reach your highest potential. Energy Kinesiology helps us to improve physical, mental amd emotional function because it is a communication tool in the science of energy balancing and is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology. Touch for Health is a simple way to help release energy blockages that keep us stuck in undesirable patterns that may be causing physical, mental or emotional stress. Touch for Health is a very effective system for stress and pain reduction. It uses muscle testing to determine imbalances in the body’s energy system. Kinesiology looks beyond symptoms and does not diagnose, treat or prescribe named diseases. Through manual muscle testing we can identify the exact nature of blockages in the energy flow and identify stressors to the bodymind by accessing the body’s own wisdom as a type of biofeedback. Once imbalances are identified then a variety of techniques can be used to release the blockages which allows the body to heal itself through its’ innate healing processes.
You can have the opportunity, right here in Tolland to join us in a Touch for Health class where you will learn how to increase energy and mental clarity, reduce stress and pain, improve posture and enhance the immune system in yourself and others. This class is open to everyone. No pre-requisites are required.
Although this might seem new to you, it has been around since the 1960’s A Detroit chiropractor, Dr George Goodheart began combining acupuncture theory with a variety of western discoveries that involved touch reflexes and muscle testing. He discovered that there was a relationship between meridians, major organs and muscles. He called the system Applied Kinesiology which now is taught exclusively to MD’s and Chiropractors.
One of Dr. Goodheart’s earliest students, Dr. John Thie, saw the potential of Dr. Goodhearts' system and developed an easier system that anyone could learn; he called it Touch for Health. Dr. Thie’s goal was to empower anyone interested in self-care to be able it use these simple techniques to help themselves, their family and friends. I think you will agree that the time is right for practicing self-care. It is much too costly to leave our care up to someone else. Acupressure is a form of bodywork similar to acupuncture, with the aim of stimulating specific points along the energy lines of the body to establish overall health and vitality by balancing your Qi (energy) flow. Unlike acupuncture however, with this modality we use our hands to apply pressure to the specific points rather than needling, producing similar therapeutic results. Acupressure is integrated into each massage session as needed.
